no as far as i know it's always been "life should taste as good as swiss chalet" .....doesnt make much sense i know

Decor

When I was growing up in Ottawa the Swiss Chalet restaurant on Bank Street had Swiss vistas (example: photo of the Matterhorn) and the flags of the Swiss cantons hanging from the ceiling. These items have since been, tragically, removed, I think about 20 years ago. Was this decor common in other Swiss Chalet restaurants or does it appear to be unique to the Ottawa location? If it was more widespread, should that be included in the article since it mentions the beams meant to resemble a Swiss chalet? 1.125.255.240 (talk) 10:51, 21 December 2012 (UTC)

HA, you are making the article worse. It would probably be possible to defend the chain as having notability, but not if you insert advertising slogans,and routine menu items. The place for both is their own wen page. When we get promotional articles there are two choices, remove the promotions or delete the article. If you;d rather delete it, sure, list it at AfD;but if someone tries to save it, it's usually a good idea to give them a chance at it. The net effect of edits like this , coupled with your defenses of the promotional version of articles, is to try to keep advertising in WP. I can not tell whether you think it belongs, or whether you don't realize. DGG ( talk ) 16:16, 6 November 2017 (UTC)

Thanks for copy editing the article, which I was going to get back to. The second comment I posted above regards removal of all content regarding this firm's fare, which occurred here: diff. Notice how in that revision, the word "chicken" is only mentioned twice in the entire article's body, once in the infobox and once in the article in a sentence about a different company. As such, this made the article less encyclopedic and informative. Content in infoboxes is intended to summarize key article content, not vice-versa. If anyone ever writes about the cult following, here's a contrary view I found while researching another restaurant chain. "...and Swiss Chalet (for moist, fall-off-the-bones chicken). Chicken Pot Pie…

Hey there… I’ve been buying the chicken pot pie from Walmart for the last 3 months now bcuz I don’t have a stove or an oven.. just a microwave which is great for heating up chicken pot pie…. I also tried the competitor, St Hubert and found that they aren’t even close enough to compare… the Swiss Chalet chicken pot pie is so much more delicious, the chicken is nice and moist and real, and the vegetables are cooked just right, the pie crust is nice and thick and isn’t dry at all! the St Hubert chicken is dry, the vegetables are undercooked and the crust is dry and sparse! And you need to put on salt bcuz there’s hardly any flavour!
