I've tried to account the conspiracy theories as best and as accurately and sceptically as I can. Whether or not they have merit I leave the reader to decide, but what is not in any doubt is that a range of experts in ballistics, pathology and other fields have cast doubt on the official version of events, to the extent that the Prime Minister was questioned in parliament over it

Merger

[edit]

Yvonne Fletcher's name is very well-known to the British public. As the first British policewoman murdered on duty, I think she deserves a page in her own right, so I would oppose this proposed merger. -- Necrothesp 13:17, 1 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

  • Yes, WPC Fletcher does deserve recognition and remembrance. The point is that if content about Fletcher was removed from the siege article, there would essentially be no separate content about the siege per se which did not already appear in the existing Fletcher article. So perhaps the siege article should be merged into the Fletcher article? The merger notices will be realigned to reflect this new proposal. 203.198.237.30 05:44, 2 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

The Yvonne Fletcher article existed as a full article a long time before the article about the siege was created. Jooler 06:58, 2 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]
