I think this category should be listed under socialist parties, rather than communist parties, as trotskyist parties usually if not always define themselve as socialist, and often, especially before 1991, in opposition to communist parties. Are there any objections to moving this category under socialist parties?

Yes it's nonsense. Trotskyist groups tend to describe themselves more frequently as socialist rather than use the term communist. This should not however be taken as a disavowal of communism. Most, if not all, Trotskyists will argue that only Trotsksyism can legitatmately be described as communist and that the Communist parties represent the negation of communism in the sense given that term by Marx and Lenin.
I have already expressed my views. I am against "Socialist" instead of "Communist". Martin, your definition relies on a misunderstanding of the term "communist". Dahn02:24, 5 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
