Change of Intersection Template
[edit]This article was changed to bring its intersection template to the NYint format. No other changes were made. It is important to verify, update and/or correct as necessary.Fwgoebel 16:01, 28 November 2006 (UTC)
"Towns" within Queens
[edit]As I was changing over the junction template, I couldn't help but notice how all eight intersections in Queens are listed as just that - Queens. Now I'm not from The City, but I do know that there are several neighborhoods that are known and indicated all over the city. In Queens, for instance, I'm aware of Queens Village, Astoria, and Flushing, and I know there are more. So I'm wondering if it would be appropriate to include those neighborhoods in which the intersections fall in the junction listing? Each may already have an article (Flushing does)....Fwgoebel 16:09, 28 November 2006 (UTC)
- Having completed junction template for 25, I went over to NY 25A and that one does use "towns" for each of the intersections on that route. So, there's the impetus....Fwgoebel 16:12, 28 November 2006 (UTC)
woops...
- I don't think there's any reason we can't revive the neighborhoods in Queens that it goes through. Right now, all the "towns" are listed as locations. That could apply to any location. ----DanTD (talk) 03:49, 10 October 2011 (UTC)
Info on pre-automotive "Plank Road" history of NY 25
[edit]I recently came across some things on Jericho Turnpike's history as a "Plank Road" in an article from the Long Island Forum; Fall 1990, Volume #53, Issue #4. Anybody looking for stuff on the history of NY 25 should look in there. ----DanTD (talk) 14:46, 25 May 2008 (UTC)
Attention rationale
[edit]Route description, particularly the portion under the "Long Island" header, needs major work. – TMF 05:22, 2 December 2009 (UTC)
Jackie Robinson Parkway Interchange
[edit]NY 25 does not directly intersect with the Jackie Robinson Parkway. [1] According to WP:RJL, intersections should only be listed if the road has an interchange with the other road. Since NY 25 does not intersect the Jackie Robinson Parkway directly, the crossing of NY 25 over the parkway should not be listed in the major junctions infobox nor the major intersections section. - The Jackie Robinson Parkway is supposed to be accessible to NY 25 via Union Turnpike. Either way, your edit still messed up the intersection list. ---------User:DanTD (talk) 01:17, 19 April 2014 (UTC)
- One other thing, I believe the list indicates that the intersection is actually supposed to be with Union Turnpike itself, not with the JR Pkwy. ---------User:DanTD (talk) 04:00, 19 April 2014 (UTC)
- Should it still say that it intersects the Jackie Robinson Parkway on the major junctions infobox then? PointsofNoReturn (talk) 22:31, 2 July 2014 (UTC)
- Yes. There is still a connection in some fashion. Mitch32(Protection is not a principle, but an expedient.) 23:34, 2 July 2014 (UTC)

Old Manhattan extension
[edit]According to Historic Aerials, NY 25 ran as far west as the West Side Highway along 57th Street (Manhattan) as well as in a one-way pair between Park Avenue (Manhattan) (former NY 22) and the Queensboro Bridge with eastbound traffic along 57th, and westbound traffic along 60th Street (Manhattan). Why isn't that covered here? ---------User:DanTD (talk) 15:47, 1 April 2020 (UTC)
