Data Access objects are also used in Java (programming language). I don't know enough about it to write more, but a reference is at: Sun:Core J2EE Patterns - Data Access Object
Great idea - I just put it in there. I converted the references to use the footnote template, which I think is a step in the right direction, but the whole Java section comes from the one source and I assume the whole Microsoft section comes from the other. I don't think that's really apparent the way I did it. - GlenPeterson

This article is factually incorrect
[edit]The comments about DAO 3.6 being the last and about no 64-bit versions are simply wrong. DAO was updated along with the introduction of the ACE in Access 2007 and 64-bit DAO was introduced along with Access 2010. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Dwfenton (talk • contribs) 18:44, 16 July 2010 (UTC)
