Talk:Watersport
Creating an article
[edit]I am about to create Water sport (recreation). I don't know whether there is enough to justify such an article.
If there is, i will propose that
- Water sport (recreation) move to Water sport.
- Watersport, and all the current redirects to it (with the exception of Watersports -- note well, single word; see below) become redirects to Water sport. Note that the current redirects to Watersport are
- Water sport have a "primary topic" disambiguation link to urolagnia at its top.
- Watersports become a redirect to urolagnia.
- Urolagnia have a primary topic" disambiguation link to Water sport at its top.
If there is not, after a reasonable period on Wikipedia:Cleanup, i will propose
- dispersing the content of Water sport (recreation) to its respective sports' articles, and
- converting Water sport (recreation) into a redirect to List of water sports.
In the meantime, i am also bypassing the existing redirects to either Water sport (recreation) or Urolagnia where feasible.

Primary topic
[edit]This is ridiculous. Water sport (recreation) is obviously the primary topic intended by references to "watersport." There is no good reason that 150 articles should be re-linked to a disambig page just because the term happens to have been coopted as slang for some obscure sexual fetish. --Russ (talk) 21:13, 20 November 2006 (UTC)
- of course there should be a link at the top of the page to the fetish. (9 yrs late?) Spacecowboy420 (talk) 09:05, 28 October 2015 (UTC)
2008 discussion
[edit]First of all, it's not that obscure—a lot of people out there know the term—and as WP is not anyone's nanny it's not appropriate to keep at least a small link off the main page. Furthermore, among the people that use the term "water sports" for the sexual fetish, there is no distinction between the version with two words or one compound word, and it's confusing to make those link up differently. So I'm fixing it. Let me know if that's a problem. /blahedo (t) 06:38, 28 July 2008 (UTC)
