Talk:Tsuruga Castle

I recommend naming articles on castles by place rather than by name. Lots of castles have nicknames: Rijo, Karasujo etc. but they're more widely known in English by the name of the city. So, I think this should be merged into Aizu Wakamatsu Castle. Fg2 23:14, Aug 5, 2004 (UTC)

I agree. It is known between historians that beautiful naming like this "castle of crane" makes many ambiguities. There are at least two other Tsuruga Castles in the Gifu prefecture and the Ōita prefecture. So the Japanese historians avoid it. Tsuruga Castle is the name for tourism. Aizuwakamatsu, Aizu-wakamatsu, or Aizu Wakamatsu Castle is better for our encyclopedia. - Kinori 05:14, 15 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]
